About Jessica

As a freelance content and social media strategist, copywriter, and editor, for the past two years, I’ve worked for brands and public figures like the Today show’s money correspondent Jean Chatzky, Silvana's Kitchen (an author and chef with her own line of gluten- and dairy-free flour), NIC+ZOE (a popular fashion line sold at Nordstrom), and Mediterra (the first nutrition bars based on the Mediterranean Diet), among others. In the span of one year freelancing for Mediterra, I increased followers on Facebook by 274%, Twitter by 128%, and Instagram by 549%.

Prior to this, I was a Social Media Manager and a Senior Editor at Parade Magazine, the most widely-read magazine in America, where I handled celebrity interviews, gift guides, and social media.

I was the Social Media Editor for Weight Watchers International where I was responsible for the content on all of their social channels (including FacebookTwittterYouTube, Tumblr, and Pinterest). I also managed the Weight Watchers Community and oversaw their network of over 25 featured bloggers.

I was also an editor at Weight Watchers Magazine where I handled fitness, motivation, and the inspiring Success Stories section and served as the fitness columnist for Weight Watchers Weekly, which is distributed in WW meeting rooms nationwide and has been translated into multiple languages.

As an editor at Every Day with Rachael Ray, I interviewed celebrities about their eating habits, conducted the monthly "Taste Test" column (where I organized staff wide tastings of supermarket foods), and helped to produce “Faves” the 5-page market/product section. I was a guest on ABC news discussing the tastiest hot dogs (even though I’m a vegetarian!). I’ve also been on staff at The Late Show with David Letterman where I greeted our VIP guests and helped to get the audience excited for the show.

I completed the Ironman triathlon (a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and 26.2-mile run all in a row) in Lake Placid, NY, in July 2011, and have completed 16 shorter triathlons, 3 marathons, Tough Mudder (an obstacle course designed by the British Special Forces), a GORUCK Light, and I even ran up all 1,860 steps to get to the top of the Empire State Building.

I love writing, editing, idea-generating and coming up with social media concepts, so please contact me with fun projects or just to say hi.
